An early Victorian cast silver taperstick in the Queen Anne style, of hexagonal section with a lightly tapering sconce narrowing to an inverted baluster with a slender lower section, over a broad spreading base raised on a stepped socle. London 1844, the maker’s mark somewhat poorly struck but possibly that of the Barnards. Condition: Excellent, the taperstick is in very good condition with no damage, dents or marks, it stands well and has no undue wobbling, the marks (with the exception of the maker’s mark) are well struck and clearly legible, and overall the piece has an elegant appearance and fine colour. Measurements: Height = 10.5 cm (4.5”) Weight = 85.7 g (2.75 oz t)
