A fine George IV rosewood ‘banjo’ barometer, the top with a swan neck pediment with turned oxbone roundels and with a brass turned vase over a hydrometer with a silvered dial in a gilt brass bezel and convex glass, over a thermometer with a silvered scale graduated in Fahrenheit under a bowed glass, to an 8” silvered dial with blued and gilt hands, brass bezel and convex glass and with a spirit level below, signed by G&L Guanziroli, London. Condition: Excellent, the barometer is in very good condition with all its parts present and correct, it has its mercury tube in the back with no air bubbles, and it is in full working order. The wood and fittings are all in excellent condition and overall the piece has a lovely colour and patina. Measurements: Height = 99 cm (39”) Width = 24.5 cm (10”)
