A mid 20th century hand knotted wool and part silk ‘40 knot’ Tabriz carpet, the rectangular carpet with fringed ends, the central medallion in pale pink framed with scrolls and with small floral motifs, to a black field with all over floral and foliate designs in pinks, dark reds, blues and ivory, and with generous spandrels to each corner reflecting the centre, and bordered with a broad pale pink path with repeating floral motifs, and similarly designed guard stripes. Iranian, 1970’s. Condition: Overall very good, the carpet is in very good condition with no damage, tears or repairs, the pile is of good, regular depth, there are some variations in colours due to exposure to sun, the carpet has been professionally cleaned and is in ready to go condition.
