Circular Extending Danish Mid Century Dining Table in Teak by Ansager Mobler

Description This mid century table was designed and manufactured by the Danish maker Ansager and extends to accommodate 6 people if required. A beautifully designed & crafted extending dining table with a stylish retro look to it. Founded in 1922, Ansager’s designs were conceived by the owners and the craftsmen in their workshop, inspired by tradition and market trends. Ansager were renowned for craftsmanship and their knowledge of woodworking skills. They had a fine reputation and family ownership for 3 generations ensured consistent quality pieces. In the 50s-70s Ansager benefitted from the international popularity of Danish design and exported globally, mostly dinning furniture. From the mid 70s their decline started due to lessening interest in Danish and mid century design and growing customer acceptance of mass-produced factory furniture. Ansager closed in 2013. This mid century modern table is structurally sound and in very nice condition with, as you’d expect, some small signs of age and use. When the table is unextended, the gap between the leaves is a little wider than normal. This isn’t the case when extended. Diameter 122cm x Height 73cm (Extends to 174cm)
